Have you sat down with a piece of paper and wrote out your goals? If you haven’t, you should. Keep reading as I share why it is so very important that you set goals.

Who should set goals?

That is the easy question. YOU! Sit down and write where you want to be one month from now. Six months from now. A year from now…and FIVE years from now!  Make a chart and start filling out each line! (Here’s an example:)

PersonallyIn my business
In one month I want to be…
In six months I want to be…
In one year I want to be…
In five years I want to be…

Now for tips on how to set and achieve your goals!

  1. Be specific. You need to know WHERE it should happen, WHEN it should happen, WHAT should happen and WHAT YOU NEED to get there!
  2. It must be attainable. If you write that you want to be a millionaire in one month….not saying it couldn’t happen, but odds are against you. Now, saying you want to be a millionaire in 1-5 years….that is more doable. You want to set the goals realistically or you will get discouraged and give up.
  3. Vision. You must be able to visualize it. How will it make you feel? What changes will it allow in your life once you hit it?
  4. No negative talking. Seriously, I’m not really a woo woo, BUT STOP telling yourself how you aren’t good enough. How you are not worthy. How life isn’t fair. NO. Stop that talk right now!  Pull out a clean piece of paper or some notecards, whichever work best for you. Write 5 affirmations down. Here are a few examples: I accept & love myself just the way I am. I am overflowing with happiness, joy & satisfaction. I CAN achieve greatness. I am becoming more and more confident each and every day. I am bold and courageous.
  5. Brainstorm. Write down the steps you must take. Chunk them, again like I said before, into attainable goals.
  6. Take action. You can’t just write them down. You have to start doing it! Step by step. Day by Day. The more action you take, the quicker you will achieve your goals.
  7. Be ready for change. Your goals may change after you hit the first one. Maybe before. But that doesn’t mean give up. That means be open to new paths! You never know what may happen if you are ready for anything!
  8. Do NOT strive for perfection. You are only setting yourself up for failure. Do the best you can and as long as you are taking action, its going to all work out!
  9. Determination. DO NOT GIVE UP. Ever. So what if your path changes? So you go another route. If you are asking yourself, what if I fail? No!!! Ask yourself, what if I don’t?!
  10. Last but not least….STAY POSITIVE. If there are people in your life being negative….back away from them. Don’t let anyone make you negative towards your goals. Noone has time for that! Keep a positive attitude and watch you achieve your dream!

You have got this! I know you do! If you need help, reach out! Friends, family, or me! And when you reach that goal….CELEBRATE! And share your wins along the way!
